Steven Stromeyer Obituary


Steven Stromeyer, 92, of Lawrence passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland, St. Joseph.


Steven was born Jan. 15, 1928, in Chicago. Preceding him in passing were his wife, Margaret on May 24, 2017; a son, Henry Stromeyer; his parents; and two brothers: Frank and Peter Stromeyer.


Steven served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was formerly employed by Whirlpool and the railroad industry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 160 in Bangor.


Steven is survived by a daughter, Susan Murphy of Ocala, Fla.; a son, Peter Stromeyer of Hartford; and three grandsons: Shane Murphy, Scott Murphy and Tylre Stromeyer.


The family will welcome friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. A graveside service will commence at 2 p.m Friday, Nov. 20, at Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Please remember if you plan on attending services that attendance and mask restrictions remain in place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 160.
