Stanley Bassett Obituary

Stanley Eugene Bassett was born March 10, 1936, in Watervliet, the son of Everett and Lulu (Gibson) Bassett. He passed away suddenly at the age of 85 on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at his home in Sister Lakes.

Stan, as he was known by most, married his wife, Sharon, on Aug. 3, 1957. He was formerly employed as a professional truck driver for Overnight Transportation, retiring in 2001. In his spare time, he loved bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, walking his dogs and even was a Little League coach. But his most important times were spent with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoying his families company at gatherings.

Stan is survived by his wife, Sharon; his four children, Ken (Gayle) Bassett of Sister Lakes, Brenda Bogart of South Haven, Lori Bassett and Ron (Tammy) Bassett, both of Sister Lakes; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew, Brittany, Kayleen, Ryan and Corey; seven great-grandchildren, Darion, Senekah, Khiley, Camden, Maguire, Miles and Skylah; and three sisters, Carol (Glenn) Abbott, Rose Marr and Vicki (Rodney) Packard, all of South Haven.

Stan was preceded in passing by his parents and 11 siblings.
