Santiago Moreno Jr., "Papi", was born on Feb. 20, 1954, in Chicago Heights, Ill., to Maria Esperansa Santiago and Santiago Moreno Rivera.
Santiago attended and graduated Rich Thorn High School in Chicago Heights. Santiago later went on to a trade school, where he mastered fixing watches. Santiago stayed in Chicago Heights, meeting the love of his life, Shirley McCoy. Santiago and Shirley had three beautiful children: Liz, Kimy and Shana. Santiago and Shirley joined in marriage in 2001, and remained together through ups and downs until his dying day.
Santiago stayed in Chicago Heights for over 40 years, before relocating in 1998 to Michigan.
Santiago learned many things and had many hats before finishing out his last working years at the Olsen Brother Co. in Michigan.
After retiring, Santiago spent some time and moved to Alabama and spent some of his years in the sun before finishing the last 10 years of his life in Michigan, surrounded by family, living the leisure life.
Santiago was preceded in death by his parents: Maria and Santiago Moreno; and his siblings: Harry Moreno, Robert Moreno and Herminia Benitez. Santiago leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Shirley Moreno; and children: Liz McCoy, Kimy Moreno and Shana Moreno; his grandchildren: Heaven, Israel, Cornelious, Jason, Pratonna, Malika, Raymond, Sonjai, Christiana; his siblings: Minerva Patterson, Migdalia White-Brown, William Moreno, Filipe Moreno, Maria Johnson, Virginia Moreno and David Moreno; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
