Ruth Ann Everett, 83, of Keeler Township passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland, St. Joseph.


Ruth was born July 31, 1937, in Paw Paw, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Drake, both of whom precede her in passing. Also preceding her in passing were a daughter, Julie Ann Everett-Nyoncesa; two brothers; and one sister.


Ruth was formerly employed at Larry Schone Bookkeeping, Jessup Door as a secretary, and as a waitress at the Keeler Café. In her spare time, she loved bowling, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing cards, especially with her friends on Wednesday nights.


Ruth married Billy Everett on Apr. 18, 1959, and he survives, along with two sons: Steven A. (Sharon) Everett of Mountain View, Calif., and Timothy Wayne (Sandra) Everett of San Jose, Calif.; a son-in-law, Patrick Nyoncesa of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and a special friend, Sharon Bassett.


The family will hold a graveside service to honor Ruth’s memory at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Keeler Cemetery, with Pastor Lonnie Truelove officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ruth’s name may be made to Caring Circle of Lakeland. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements.
