Rosemary Ann Stokes

November 4, 1944 ~ February 20, 2022 (age 77)


Rosemary Stokes was born in Lawrence, Mich., on Nov. 4, 1944, the daughter of Arthur and Donna (Starbuck) Kelemen.

Rosemary, 77, of Benton Harbor passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, at the Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.

Rosemary loved being a homemaker, enjoyed doing crafts and watching the birds and squirrels. She was an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 568 of Stevensville.

Rosemary is survived by two daughters: Karen Stokes and Patricia (David) Heinz; three grandchildren: Natalie Stokes, Paul (Erica) Stokes and Jessica Heinz; a brother, Bernard Novak; and a sister, Peggy Hester. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Carrol Stokes; a daughter, Lisa Marie Stokes; her parents; and three brothers: Robert Novak, Bill Novak and Arthur Kelemen.

The family will welcome friends from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, at Patricia's home: 1253 E. Downing Ave., Benton Harbor, for a celebration of life gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the D.A.V., The Wild Life Foundation, or the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen.
