Paul Ralph Wilcoxson, Sr.

Paul R. Wilcoxson Sr., 78, of Hartford went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph.

Paul was born Sept. 13, 1941, in Jonesboro, Ark., to Woodrow and Vivian (Sidenstricker) Wilcoxson, the oldest of three children. He moved to St. Joseph with his family as a child. He worked in the grocery store business before working at Bosch Braking in Stevensville, where he retired from in 1996.

Paul was active in Hartford Bible Church in Hartford, teaching in Sunday School, teaching in AWANA, serving on the church board as a trustee, and working in the sound system. He also delivered Meals on Wheels for over 20 years, and was active in the Gideons International. In addition, he did volunteer taxes in Benton Harbor for AARP for many years.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at Hartford Bible Church, 65418 Red Arrow Hwy., Hartford, on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., with the service at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International or Hartford Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and a brother; along with a son, Paul Jr. Paul is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ruth; sons, Martin Sr. (Diana) of Covert and John of Marshall; daughters, Penny (Bascom) Brown of Jackson and Liz McCrary of Paw Paw; several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
