Julie Mae Burfield

Julie Mae Burfield, 26, of Hartford suddenly passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

She was born Feb. 10, 1994, in Benton Harbor, the daughter of Jeffery and Linda (Viscuso) Briney.

Julie was a soft spoken, free spirit with an eternally giving heart. She loved being outdoors and always seemed to be on an adventure. Julie loved her family and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

On April 19, 2014, Julie was united in marriage with Michael Burfield, and he survives; along with a son, Wyatt, who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her parents; two sisters, Jessica (Chad) Ottinger of Dowagiac and Sara (Spencer) Simpson of Benton Harbor; grandparents, Hank and Viola Viscuso of Coloma and Linda Jennings of Riverside; four nieces; two nephews; and numerous other family members and friends.

As to the current restrictions, a graveside celebration of Julie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac, with Pastor Steven Bisbee of the Hartford General Baptist Church officiating. Following the service, a time of fellowship and refreshments will be held at Jessica and Chad’s House, 59234 Dewey St., Dowagiac, MI 49047. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family. Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, has been entrusted with arrangements.
