Jimmy Ray Green

Jimmy Ray Green, 66, of Hartford passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.

Jimmy was born on Jan. 20, 1956, in Georgia, to the late Charles L. and Eunice M. (Burnside) Green.

He joined the Navy young, serving in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, the Chicago Cubs, and spending time with family. Monopoly was a long-time favorite game, but many friends at Woodside Apartments will remember his frequent Yahtzee wins.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his partner, Carrie Haines; parents; two brothers, Charles Green and Bobby Green; and two sisters, Teresa Hoffman and Sherry Green.

Surviving are his children: Grace Lopez (Matt Malicki) of Paw Paw, Jimmy (Belinda) Green of Watervliet, Adrianne (Jason) LaPeer of Hudsonville, William Haines of Sault Ste. Marie, and Anita Haines of Stevensville; grandchildren: Joseph Lopez, Yasmin Lopez, and Mason Green. He is also survived by his siblings, Shelia (James) Taylor of Tennessee and Gary Green of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Julianne Green of Sodus; as well as nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022. Full military honors will be performed by the North Berrien Military Rites Team at 6:00 p.m. Cremation and private burial will take place at a later date.
