James Ray Wilson, 30, of Lawrence passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in a tragic accident.
James was born Jan. 1, 1993, to James and Tammy Wilson. On June 16, 2017, James married his high school sweetheart, Melanie Wilson. He enjoyed spending time with his family, which included fishing, being outdoors, attending his kids sporting events, and was a hard worker at Wrays Septic Tank and Development Company. His personality and goofy jokes always kept us laughing. He had a heart of gold that touched many peoples lives. He always had a smile on his face and a big hug to give.
James is survived by his wife, Melanie Wilson; children: Laila, Hunter, Emmalin and Paisley Wilson; his parents: James and Tammy Wilson; siblings: Ben (Nicole) Couch, RuthAnn (Jerry) Martinez and Rachel Wilson; two nieces; three nephews; grandparents: Stan (Karen) Carey and Buddy Wilson; aunts and uncles: Irene (Scott) Hansen and Jeff (Michelle) Wilson; and multiple cousins.
James was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Brenda Wilson and Lucille Yost. He will forever be missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
The family will welcome friends from 10 a.m. -noon, on Saturday, June 17, at the Full Gospel Assembly Church, Hartford, where at noon, the service to honor James’ memory will commence. Pastor Shannon Truelove will be officiating. James will be laid to rest in Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
