Icie Mae Richardson, of Paw Paw, was born on Jan. 24, 1937, in Caraway, Ark., to Hurtis “Alvin” and Edith (Ryan) Brewer.
Icie passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich.., at the age of 84.
Icie considered Hartford her home town living there for 45 years, before moving to Kalamazoo and then to Paw Paw. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Hartford Federated Church, now the Hartford Bible Church. She loved to talk and never met a stranger, enjoyed taking care of her flowers, but most important to her was the times she spent with her family. In her younger days she was employed at the Watervliet Laundromat.
Icie is survived by her daughter, Tamara Hall of Portage; three grandchildren: Andy (Alyssa), Alex and Adam Borozan; two sisters: Audrey (Clem) Nicoloff and Judy (Roger) Berry; and stepchildren: Carol Saurbier, Dianna Richardson, Vickie Head and Brian (Cynthia Garrone) Richardson; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Icie was preceded in passing by her first husband, Donald McNees; her second husband, Leonard Richardson Jr.; a son, Keith McNees; her parents; a brother, Kenneth Brewer, and a sister, Joy Maddox.
The family will greet friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where at 3 p.m. a service to honor Icie’s memory will take place. Her brother-in-law; Roger Berry will conduct the service. As to her wishes cremation will follow. Icie will be laid to rest at a later date in North Shore Memory Gardens, in Coloma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Icie’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Those wishing to leave a condolence for the family may do so at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
