Beverly Jane Davis

Beverly Jane Davis, 85, of Hartford passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020, at home.

Beverly was born May 31, 1935, in Decatur, the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Robinson) Sorensen, both of whom precede her in passing. Also preceding her in passing are a son, Douglas Davis; one grandchild; and two brothers.

Beverly graduated from Decatur High School in 1953. She then went to William Jennings Bryan University in Tennessee, Twin City Beauty College in Benton Harbor and went to work for the V. M. Corporation, from where she retired. Beverly and her husband, Mel, owned and operated B. M. D. Incorporated in Hartford. Beverly was often seen outside of their home tending to the many flowers she would plant.

Beverly married Melvin Davis on April 11, 1959, and he survives, along with three sons, Melvin Davis Jr., Alvin (Renae) Davis and Thomas Davis; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four siblings: Janet Sorensen of Oregon, Mittie Lower of Indiana, Kenneth (Pat) Sorensen of Tennessee and Grace Walker of Indiana.

As per Beverly’s wishes, cremation will take place and a gathering of friends and family will take place at a later date.
