Arthur Ray Bozarth Sr. was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Dekoven, Ky. to Elmer and Lillie (Lemon) Bozarth. Arthur passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at Advent Health Daytona Beach in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Ray, as he was known by most, served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a master carpenter, who worked well into his 80's. He was an avid sportsman who loved coon hunting with his beloved dog, Blue, and was a former Master of Hounds for the United Coon Hunters Association. He also loved fishing the waters from Canada to Florida.
Ray is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mary Ruth; children: Sherry (David) Hill of Hartford, Arthur Jr. (Sue) Bozarth of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Vicky Bozarth of Ormond Beach, Fla., Terri (Darryl) Daugherty, Kim Bozarth and James Bozarth, all of Covert, and April (James) White of Hartford. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Jinright; and many nieces and nephews.
Ray is preceded in passing by his first wife of 41 years, Glenna; a son, Elmer Bozarth; a granddaughter, Michelle Hill; his parents; and a brother, William Bozarth.
The family will welcome friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 15 at the Hartford Church of God, where the service to honor his memory will commence at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford, with full military rites by the North Berrien Military Rites Team. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ray’s name may be made to the church.
