We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Calvin Funeral Home
Allan Clark Blum was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Detroit, the son of Marceau and Beth (Clark) Blum, both of whom preceded him in passing. Allan passed away peacefully, on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his home in Hartford.
Allan retired from the Van Buren County Road Commission after 35 years of faithful employment. He was also a valued employee of the Calvin and Leonard Funeral Homes for a number of years. He always enjoyed the times spent with his family, especially watching the Ox Roast Parade in Lawrence. Allan and Faye attended many churches in the area, but always considered the Hartford Bible Church their home church, and having a wonderful voice, in his younger years, sang in the church choir.
Allan married Faye Campbell in 1955, and for the next 67 years they enjoyed each others company. Faye survives, along with their three children: Philip (Susan) Blum, Thomas (Dawn) Blum and Linda (Kevin) Benham; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother, Fred (Eloise) Blum; a sister, Janet (George) Russell; along with numerous other family members and friends.
The family will welcome friends from noon to 1 p.m., on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Hartford Bible Church, followed by a celebration of life service to honor Allan’s memory. Pastor Benjamin Williamson will officiate. Full military rites will be conducted by the North Berrien Military Rites Team. Allan will be laid to rest in Colburn Cemetery, Lawrence Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Navigators. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Calvin Funeral Home of Hartford.
