With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Sandra Lee Tarantino, who departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026.
Sandra was born on Jan. 23, 1944, in Benton Harbor to Arthur Arndt and Alberta Arndt (Griffin). On Aug. 20, 1966, she married the love of her life, Paul Tarantino, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion, strength, and unwavering commitment to family. Together, they built a home centered on family, faith, and compassion.
Sandra was a caring wife with quiet strength, always there with love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for teaching and retired from Coloma Elementary, where she touched the lives of countless students over the years. She enjoyed golfing when she could, and whether baking or quilting, she found joy in simple pursuits that reflected her patience and care. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family playing cards or simply listening attentively to the conversations of family and friends gathered around her.
She is survived by her four children: Rodney (Jennifer) Tarantino of Alton, Ill., and their family, Kendall, Ryan, Max, and Alex; Jody (Patrick) Phillips of Rotunda West, Fla., and their family, Julianne and Lexi; Julie (Brian Chamness) Tarantino of Buchanan; and Randy (Kim) Tarantino of Cypress, Tex., and their family, Ella and Abby. She was also blessed with four wonderful great-grandchildren: Ava, Mia, Kensley, and Elli.
She is also survived by her brother, Thomas (Sharon) Arndt of Johnstown, Colo.; her sister, Shirley Bergstrom of St. Joseph; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Sandra is reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Paul Tarantino, and those who preceded her in death.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 30, 2026, at Hill Cemetery in Lawrence Township, Mich.
