Robert Sammy Boyer

Robert Sammy Boyer, 54, of Portage, Mich., passed away suddenly Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at home.

Robert was born Aug. 28, 1964, in Florida, the son of Sam and Margie (Pugh) Boyer, both of whom preceded him in passing. Also preceding him in passing were two brothers, David Eugene Johnson and Jeffrey Johnson.

Robert worked at Comfort Inn in Kalamazoo. In his spare time, Robert loved car races and getting his hands dirty woodworking.

Robert is survived by a brother, Danny (Pat Hendrix) Johnson of Dowagiac, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

The family will welcome friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. After the visitation, cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donation's in Robert's name be made to the family.
