Margaret Cornelia Stromeyer

Margaret Cornelia Stromeyer was born May 22, 1925, in Lawrence Township. She passed away at the age of 92, on May 24, 2017, at her home. She was the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Stafford) Wild, both of whom preceded her in passing. Margaret was also preceded by four siblings.

After graduating from high school, Margaret joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1945-46 in a hospital in New York and the Great Lakes. She then married Steve Stromeyer on March 4, 1950. Margaret obtained a bachelor's degree and taught first grade in the Hartford Public School system for 30 years.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Steve; a daughter, Susan Murphy of Ocala, Fla., and her children, Shane and Scott; two sons, Henry (Linda) Stromeyer and her son, Isaac; and Peter Stromeyer and his child, Tylre; along with numerous other family members and friends.

As to Margaret's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life potluck to honor her memory will be held at the Lawton Fraternal Order of Eagles from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017.
