Manuel Lisalde Medrano

Manuel Lisalde Medrano, 88, of Hartford passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.

The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford, with the Rev. German Perez-Diaz as the celebrant. Manuel will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. Manuel was born on April 9, 1929, in San Antonio, the son of Cipriano and Maria de la Soledad (Lisalde) Medrano, both of whom preceded him in passing. Also preceding him were a son, Manuel Medrano; and a daughter, Leticia Medrano.

Manuel was married to the love of his life, Teresa Suarez for 68 years. She survives along with their children: Margaret (Gilbert) Garcia, George (Blanca) Medrano, Olivia (Carmelo) Rodriguez, Juanita Jackson, Elena (Victor) Hidalgo, Judy (Daniel) Mireles, Robert (Rachel) Medrano, Jesse Medrano and Susie (Jose Luis) Perez. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Manuel was formerly employed at Druskovich Farms and Willbrandt Farms, both of Decatur, and at Hilltop Farms of Hartford. Being a simple family man, Manuel's most precious times were those spent at all the family gatherings.
