Lorna Ann Stagg

Lorna Ann Stagg passed away at the age of 73 on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Brookdale Meridian Assisted Living in Haslett, Mich. Lorna was born May 15, 1944, in Chicago, the daughter of William and Margaret (Thar) Friedl.

Lorna was a secretary for Olds and Mackinder Law Firm and the Hartford Public Schools for many years. She was a long time member of MECCA, the Modern Mother's Club, the Watervliet Hospital Auxiliary, a trustee of the Hartford Public Schools Foundation, and a member of many other clubs. She loved life. She was devoted to her children. She was an enthusiastic booster of those around her. She cared deeply for the students she worked with. She made friends wherever she went. She will be forever missed by her communities. She was loved.

Lorna is survived by her children: Leslie (Pratt) Scogin, Jason Pratt and Jennifer (Stagg) Rodgers; stepchildren: Adelbert Stagg Jr., Robert Stagg, Andy Stagg, Richard Stagg and Sally Stagg; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

Lorna was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Adelbert Stagg on June 12, 2013, and her parents.

The family will welcome friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at the Hartford Seventh-day Adventist Church. A celebration of life service to honor Lorna's memory will commence at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at the church. Pastor Michael Taylor of the Paw Paw Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate. Lorna will be laid to rest next to her husband at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hartford Public Schools Foundation for Quality Education.
