Kenneth Ivan Manning

Kenneth Ivan Manning, 87, of Hartford, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at Lakeland Hospital, Watervliet.

Kenneth was born March 2, 1931, in Kennett, Mo., the son of Lenzo and Gladys (Jackson) Manning.

On Aug. 30, 1954, Kenneth was united in marriage with the former Shirlene Hill. He was pastor and founder of the Hartford Church of God, and his legacy will live on by the many lives he has touched through his ministry and love for his Lord Jesus. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ken, as he was known, is survived by a daughter: Rebecca (Jack) Traughber; two sons: Michael (Terri) Manning and Mark (Cheryl) Manning; six grandchildren: Jeff, Tabitha, Joshua, Melissa, Benjamin and Julie; 13 great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Christine Tapp, Jestine Thomas, Fay (Mary) Manning and Ray (Joyce) Manning.

Ken was preceded in passing by his wife: Shirlene; a granddaughter: Kendra Michael; his parents; and four siblings: Peck Manning, Sue Lalk, Hershel “Dock” Manning and Cletus Manning.

The family will welcome friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Hartford Church of God, where the service to honor Ken’s memory will commence at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29. Ken will be laid to rest next to his wife in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Gideons International.
