Katrina Marie Deckard Johnson

Katrina Marie Deckard Johnson was born Dec. 21, 1959, in Watervliet, the daughter of Charles and Jean (Estes) Deckard. Katrina passed away suddenly, on Monday, March 11, 2019, at her home, at the age of 59.

Katrina was a graduate of Hartford High School in the class of 1978. She was formerly employed at the Cedar Lodge in Lawrence, the Panel Room and the Shell Gas Station, both in Hartford, and Big Boy in South Haven. Her most enjoyable times were spent with her children and grandchildren.

Katrina was the mother to three children: Jessie (Justin) Rider of Traverse City, Mich., Michael Johnson of Zion, Ill., and Jeromie Johnson of Lawrence, all of whom survive. She is also survived by five grandchildren; her mother, Jean; a brother, Gary "Joe" (Becky) Deckard; a sister, Felicia Deckard; a stepbrother, Danny Burlingham; and a stepsister, Shawntell (Jeff) Adler.

Katrina was preceded in passing by her father and two brothers, Stephen and Timothy Deckard.

The family will welcome friends for a celebration of life gathering from noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, the Hartford Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family. Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford is assisting the family.
