Jimmy Don Truelove, Sr.

Jimmy Don Truelove Sr. was born Oct. 26, 1955 in Kennett, Mo., the son of Darell and Vernada (McFarlin) Truelove.

Jimmy passed away at the age of 69 on Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, at his home in Hartford.

Jimmy was a hard worker doing construction and farm work. He loved his children and all his family. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, being in the nature, playing bingo, eating especially southern food such as beans, cornbread and potatoes and watching football with his favorite team being the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jimmy leaves behind to cherish his memory a daughter, Melody (Walt) Snider; son, Jimmy (Heather) Truelove Jr., and daughter Sarah (Kevin Northrop) Stanton, along with six grandchildren and five brothers.

Jimmy was preceded in passing by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, at the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Hartford, where at 11 a.m. a celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held. Pastors Shannon Truelove and Lonnie Truelove will officiate. Jimmy will be laid to rest in Harrison Cemetery in Decatur following the service.
