Helen Sue Gasca

Helen Sue Gasca, 53 of Dowagiac passed away suddenly Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo.

Helen was born March 2, 1965, in Holland, Mo., to Barney and Betty (Cannon) Elliott, both of whom precede her in passing. Also preceding her in passing are five brothers: Roger Elliott, Barney Elliott Jr., Stanley Joe Elliott, Larry Elliott and Daniel Elliott.

Helen is survived by five children: Jose Louis Gasca (Cortney Edmonds), Maria Isabel Olmedo (Galdino Olmedo), Alonso Gasca (Holly Gillesby), Rigo Gasca (Selena Contreras) and David Gasca. She is also survived by grandchildren: Laiya, LiLanne, Enzo and Evelyn Gasca, Israel, Cinthia, Jacob, Rooney, Oliver and Romeo Olmedo, Antonio Gasca, Rigo Jr. and Remi Gasca; and eight brothers and sisters: Carlyon Teeter, Katherine Farmer, Linda Milstead, Dessie Hopkins, Debby Uribe, Lisa Fernandez, Alvin Byers and John Elliott.

The family will welcome friends from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where a mass will be held at 6 p.m., with Father German Perez-Diaz serving as celebrant. After the mass, cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen's name may be made to her family.
