Elmer Horn

Elmer Horn, 82, was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Clarksville, Tenn., the son of William and Ethel (Spivey) Horn. Elmer passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at his home in Lawrence.


For many years Elmer drove farm tractors for numerous farmers in Indiana. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed listening to the old country and western songs, loved going all kinds of car races, however his most precious times were spent with his loving family.


Elmer married the former Marcella Faye Doss on July 26, 1960. She passed away May 30, 2008. Also preceding him in passing was a son, Terry Horn; a daughter, Connie Zenor; his parents, and four sisters: Thelmer, Brownie, Margie and Bernice.


Elmer leaves behind to cherish his memory are two sons: Donald Horn and Clifford (Dawn Orr) Horn Sr.; five grandchildren: Misty Horn, Cliff (Sammie Jaskowiak) Horn Jr., Rebecca Horn, Alisha Darling and Alexis Williams; four great-grandchildren: Anthony Paulin, Isabella Paulin, Anakin Wells, Joel Jaskowiak, with another baby Horn on the way; a brother, Carl Horn; a sister, Minnie (Ray) Doss, and a close family friend, Theresa Snider.


The family will welcome friends from 11 a.m. – noon Tuesday, June 25, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where a celebration of life service to honor Elmer's memory will commence at noon. Pastor Lonnie Truelove will officiate. Elmer will be laid to rest next to his wife, Marcella, in Keeler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Elmer's name may be made to the family.
