Dennis Van Fast

Dennis Van Fast was born on March 28, 1948, in Benton Harbor, the son of Wesley and Virginia (McGrath) Fast. Dennis “Denny” passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018, and has joined his wife, Nancy, who went to be with the Lord 12 days earlier.

On July 6, 1982, Dennis was united in marriage to Nancy Jean Mielke. Denny was a known recording artist and accomplished musician and had the honor of playing country music on stage at the Grand Ole Opry with many great country music legends, even touring with Rex Allen Jr. Denny was a lifetime member of the Nashville Musicians Association.

Dennis is survived by his three children: Michael (Shannon) Fast, Tony Fast and Lisa (Steve) Schuler; four grandchildren: Allison Fast, Emma Fast, Sean Fast and Anthony Fast; a brother, Daniel Fast; a niece, Lori Anne (Jeff) Huegel; and many other family members and friends.

Besides his wife Nancy, Dennis was preceded in passing by his parents, and two brothers, George and Doug Fast.

Dennis's family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 23, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where the celebration of life service will commence at noon. His son Michael Fast will officiate. Dennis will be laid to rest with a private service in North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Township.
