Cheryl Lee Morseau

Cheryl “Zagthewékwé” L. Morseau, 47, of Bangor passed away Friday, Jan. 30th, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family in Mattawan.


A Memorial Service will be held 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4th, 2026, at Calvin Funeral Home, 8 E Main St, Hartford. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home. There will be a dinner to follow from 7-9 p.m. at Moondance Hall, 66297 Red Arrow Hwy, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to her eldest daughter, Adrianna Morseau-Mares, who will be taking over the care of her two younger siblings.


Cheryl was born Oct. 31, 1978, in Berrien Center, to James Purcell and Susie Morseau. Cheryl found joy in the simple moments: going for walks, listening to music, and spending cherished time with her family. She loved her three daughters and one son. Cheryl took pride in being a member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi.


Cheryl is survived by 3 daughters: Adrianna Morseau, Brianna Morseau, and Juliana Morseau; and her one son, Dayten Morseau; 2 sisters, Rhonda Purcell and Jennifer Purcell; 2 brothers, George Morseau and James Jr. Purcell and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents.
