Billy Ray Morris

Billy Ray Morris, 80, of Bangor Township was born on Jan. 2, 1937, to Dencil and Margaret (Branam) Morris. He passed away suddenly on Monday, May 8, 2017, at his home.

At age 80, “Bill” as he was known, was still doing construction work at his own company, Bill Morris Construction which he started in 1962. In his spare time, he loved fishing, and watching and going to all kinds of auto racing, however his most precious times were spent with his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by three daughters: Diane (Cecil) Wismer of Hartford, Sheryl (Mark) Horowitz of Phoenix, and Dawn McFadden-Berbert; and two stepdaughters, Cynthia Gilman and Tammy (David) Millword. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Joshua Berbert, Benjamin Horowitz and Cecil Wismer; many other stepgrandchildren; and five siblings: Jack (Joy) Morris of Decatur, Louise Tuberville of Florida, Robert (Marilyn) Morris of South Haven, Patricia (Gary) Olive and Terry (Vicky) Morris both of Florida.

Bill was preceded in passing by three wives: Ruth, Gloria, and Theresa; his parents; and a sister, Catherine Peninger.

The family will welcome friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Hartford Federated Church, where the celebration of life service will take place immediately following. Bill will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations in Bill's name be made to Caring Circle.
