Barbara Ann Hobdy

Barbara Ann Hobdy was born March 21, 1937, in Paw Paw, the daughter of William Warren and Ila Marguerite (Spikings) Smith. Barbara passed away suddenly on May 17, 2019, at the age of 82, at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.

On Aug. 25, 1956, Barbara and William Hobdy were united in marriage. William passed away on March 6, 2006. Also preceding Barbara in passing was a son, David Hobdy.

Barbara owned and operated A & A Macrame in Coloma for many years. She loved going to church, garage sales and reading books, but most of all, hanging out with her best friend and daughter, Anna.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Anna (Roger) Foster; a sister, Juanita Hosmer of Denver; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at New Freedom Church in Coloma, where a celebration of life service to honor Barbara's memory will begin at 2 p.m., with Pastor Wade Blankenship officiating. As to Barbara's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family. The Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford is assisting with arrangements.
