Angela Joan (Neebling) Showerman, "Angie", of Hartford, Mich., passed away surrounded by her family on June 2, 2026.
Angie was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., where she grew up with her sister, Carol. She graduated from Ann Arbor High School and later attended Cleary Business College where she met her husband, Richard "Dick" Showerman. Angie had a love for reading and dedicated 22 years of service as a library assistant at Woodside Elementary School. Once settled into Hartford, Angie became a devoted member of Hartford United Methodist Church, as well as an active member of the church choir where she loved to sing. She also had a strong passion for photography and received several awards for her talented ability to truly capture the beauty of the world around her.
Angie was an avid believer in giving back to the community, which was shown through her involvement with the Van Buren County Fair Association, The Red Cross Foundation, Tri-County Strawberry Festival, as well as her involvement as Chairman for the Hartford Community Christmas Bazaar for a number of years.
Angie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her passion for the arts, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Angie is survived by her sister, Carol (Andrew) Fleischmann of Gregory, Mich.; her children: Sindy (Pam) of Battle Creek, Mich., Alan (Linda) of Quinton, Va., Todd (Kristy) of Burton, Mich., Gay (Bob) Jonatzke of New Port Richey, Fla.; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Angie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard Showerman.
The family will be holding private services to honor Angie’s memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions or donations can be made to the American Stroke Association Foundation or Dementia Society Association.
