Richard Lawrence Weston, 79, of Hartford passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at his home in Hartford Township.
Dick, as he was known by most, was born on Dec. 25, 1944, in Watervliet, the son of Lawrence and Beatrice (Smith) Weston.
Dick married the former Debra Davis on April 12, 1987. For many years, Dick farmed his own land in Hartford until his retirement. Dick was a U.S. Army veteran of the VietNam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 160 of Bangor.
Dick is survived by his wife, Debra; four daughters: Michelle Aceves, Angela Gendron, Tammy (Casey) Bushouse and Tina (Mike) Cowell; and a son, Lance Weston; along with 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Vassar and Leola Wendzel; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Dick was preceded in passing by a son, Eric Steven Weston; his parents; a son-in-law, Robert Gendron; two sisters, Leona McKinney and Lucy Nugent; and a brother, Danny Weston.
The family will receive friends for a time of fellowship from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. A service to honor Dick’s memory will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the New Beginnings Ministries in Bangor, with Pastor Mack Travis officiating. Dick will be laid to rest next to his parents in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford, with full military rites by the American Legion Post 160 of Bangor.
